In the Battle of Gettysburg, there was a total of 165,620 soldiers who fought for both the North and South.
The Union had a total of 93,921 soldiers who fought, 3,155 of which were killed, and 14,529 of which were wounded.
The Confederates had a total of 71,699 soldiers who fought, with 3,903 soldiers killed and 18,735 wounded.
As shown above, the North had more troops than the South. This graph shows that even though the North had more troops, they also had the most casualties.
